Volunteer Opportunities
As a community theater organization, Stowe Theatre Guild thrives on the support of enthusiastic and committed volunteers from the community, and many of them don't have direct theatre experience, just energy and interest!
We will post opportunities here, but you can also sign up for our mailing list or follow us on Facebook to be the first to know when new things come up!
...with what's on stage:
Audition to be a Cast Member
Season auditions are held annually in early February. Information about auditions will be available as the date gets closer.
Direct (or Music Direct or Choreograph) a Show
If you have a show you would like to propose (with team attached) for part of an upcoming season, email proposals@stowetheatre.com.
Volunteer with Tech or Backstage
We love our designers, stage managers, set builders, and everyone else who brings the shows to life! If you are interested in joining the crew of any of our shows, please email info@stowetheatre.com.
...with helping everything run:
Join the Board
We are seeking new board members! If you are interested, please email president@stowetheatre.com.
Sell Tickets or Usher
We need volunteers to work the box office and serve as ushers. As a thank you, you'll get to see that night's show for free (ushers) or get a comp ticket for another performance (box office). Please email info@stowetheatre.com if you'd like to sign up.
Serve On a Committee or Volunteer for Projects
Email us at info@stowetheatre.com to tell us how you'd like to get involved! We need help with all sorts of things, from promoting shows to cleaning the theatre. We're always looking for new volunteers who just want to help.
Here are examples of some of the many ways our volunteers help:
- run lights or sound
- sell tickets
- serve on the board
- sewing/costuming
- hang posters
- hand out programs or take tickets
- choreograph, direct or music direct
- select shows for the season
- serve on a committee
- publicize shows
- produce shows
- build/paint sets
- acting / singing / dancing
- and more!
Many volunteer roles also give you the opportunity to see shows for free!
